Sourcing New Vendor

Standard: Min 6 vendor / year · Weight: 10% · cumulative over the year

Strategy — what this KPI measures

Measures supply-base development: finding cheaper or better alternative suppliers. Target is at least 6 genuinely new vendors per year.

Data sources & how they are merged

  • Source: not derivable from the current exports — they carry no reliable vendor-history identity, so a vendor's first-ever PO date cannot be established.
  • Values come from kpi_manual_entries; add a Vendor Code/Name column to the source export to compute this automatically (counting each vendor by its first-ever PO date).

The full merged dataset is browsable on the Data page, including the merge explanation.

Monthly calculation — step by step

  1. Sum the new-vendor entries from January 1 through the end of the month (cumulative for the year).
  2. Score is REAL ÷ 6 (the yearly target), clamped to 100%.

Formula

REAL = new vendors recorded from Jan 1 to month end (cumulative)
%    = REAL ÷ 6% (standard "Min 6 vendor / year") × 100, clamped to 0–100%
CAPAI = % × 10% (weight) → max 10 points
Monthly total score = Σ CAPAI of all 7 KPIs (max 100 points)

Month attribution

Cumulative year-to-date, judged against the yearly target of 6.

Edge cases & caveats

  • No vendor-history export exists yet, so each year is seeded with a best-case default of 6 new vendors (meets the target → full score), recorded in the year's first active month. Replace it once real vendor data is available.
